Jose Luis Concha, Assistant Researcher and PhD student of LabMAT, carried out a stay in the Universidad de Los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) during February and May 2022.
During his stay, he worked in the Grupo de Investigación en Geomateriales y Sistemas de Infraestructura (GeoSI) under the supervision of the Professor Silvia Caro Spinel.
Jose Luis is a PhD student involved in the FONDECYT Regular Research Project 1190027 funded by the Chilean National Research and Development Agency (ANID). This project explores the use of more sustainable solutions for the self-healing of bituminous materials using renewable resource-based microcapsules.
During his stay at UniAndes, Jose Luis conducted research focused on measuring rheological and self-healing properties in bituminous mastics containing encapsulated oils. During his research at GeoSI, he performed micromechanical stress creep recovery tests on bituminous mastic samples through the Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR).
As a Research Group, we congratulate Jose Luis on this successful stay, and we thank Professor Silvia Caro for all her support during the research stay. Congratulations both!!!
