Development of a new fiber-reinforced asphalt mixture with self-healing properties via microwave heating

This project was focused on the evaluation of two main goals. First, developing a new asphalt mixture with improved healing properties by adding metallic fibers and heating via microwave energy and second, measuring the thermal, physical and mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced asphalt mixtures under the influence of different environmental conditions such as thermal and electrical conductivity, microwave heating ratio and healing, flexural strength, mechanical cracking and particle loss resistance.
